Knows which AI subscription you actually need.

A menu bar for Claude, Codex, Cursor and Copilot: what is left, what it costs, which plan would have done.

Not just bars. Answers.

Every tracker has bars. TokenTank tells you what to do with the numbers.

Plan optimizer

“Max 5x would have done: 0 limit hits, $100 saved per month.”

From the last 30 days of history, TokenTank works out per account whether a cheaper plan would have done or a bigger one is needed. Once a month, it tells you.

Forecast

“Empty at 2:32 pm.” At the current pace, before the window resets. You know before the CLI tells you.

Cost per project

Which project eats the quota, month by month. As CSV for the invoice to the client.

Five providers, one glance

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI. Several accounts per provider. New providers arrive as a signed recipe, without an app update.

Nothing leaves your Mac.

No server, no telemetry, no account. TokenTank reads locally and computes locally.

Questions

Why not on the Mac App Store?

The App Store sandbox blocks access to Claude Code's logs, the Codex CLI's file and other apps' keychain items. Without those there is nothing to show. TokenTank is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized.

What exactly does TokenTank read?

Numbers: tokens, percentages, reset times, model names, working directories. From the local session logs and the providers' usage endpoints, with your own login. Never message contents.

What happens after the trial?

Tracking continues; the menu bar shows a lock. A licence key brings every figure back at once. Nothing is lost.

Where do the list prices come from?

From a signed price table for your region that TokenTank updates without an app update. You can override every price yourself.

How does a new provider get added?

As a recipe: a JSON file naming the endpoint and its fields. TokenTank ships signed recipes; your own go into a folder. When a provider changes its endpoint, the fix is a file, not an update.

Which Macs does TokenTank run on?

macOS 14 or newer, Apple silicon and Intel. One licence covers up to three Macs.
